The reasons for GD being inactive are many, although it's largely due to the fact that most of us have known eachother for many years. This marginalises the traditional message board staples such as "God LOL" "Filesharing is wrong!" and the like. Simultaneously, many of us have other means of communication between eachother, which leads to the more minor "current affairs" type discussions ("What do you think of this piece of media?" being a good example) being held in other media, which decreases the apparant board activity significantly, while still letting the "regulars" keep in active communication. There is also some hypercriticality over certain kinds of thread
content, leading to many of the people who only really inhabited the football threads jumping ship.
It is not down to people calling terrible threads terrible threads. If you must insist on posting nonsense, do have the common decency to have a thicker skin to go along with it.
