Shoes

Do you judge people based on the shoes they wear? Apparently its one of the 'golden rules' that women should use to decide if a guy is worth dating...see if his shoes are nice. Now it sounds like a load of crap to me, but people still do it.

Also, do guys think a girl is more likely to sleep with him if she is wearing slutty shoes? I really want to buy these http://www.fantasiawear.com/ImagesShoe/pssky320.jpg but dont really want to deal with unwanted male attention if men really do think slutty shoes = slutty girl.

hold on - you think guys actually look at your feet?

You're lucky if we look at your face let alone move our eyes down that far.

Re: Shoes

I can't really comment on the first two parts because I'm not a girl and i don't expect/want girls to sleep with me in any case. That said, judging people by their shoes seems acceptable as far as "judging people by how they present themselves to you" is concerned - if someone turns up to a date in jogging bottoms and slippers they probably aren't brimming with respect for you etc. As an indicator all on their own, however, it seems a little off.

Those shoes are terrifying, for what it's worth

midge5 19 Jun 2006 15:46

Re: Shoes

As Ste said it isn't really something I look at. This is less about just staring elsewhere though, and more about the fact I just don't give a shit. My shoes and trainers are all permanently scratched and look quite shit but they are still comfy to me. I would also much rather wear trainers on a night out though the piss taking suggests that other people do seem to care. On a woman then I think about their shoes less than mine.

pablissimo 19 Jun 2006 15:49

Re: Shoes

I've never formed an opinion about someone that's changed from looking at their shoes. I imagine if you were to wear those shoes but augmented somehow, perhaps with egg-fried-rice-laced vomit, then I would reassess my initial reaction to meeting you.

Dante Hicks 19 Jun 2006 15:54

Re: Shoes

If a woman is short (and petite) she should wear ludicrous high heels and then saunter around like a aburd doll like figure. I still wouldn't bother looking at her shoes but it would guarantee I'd be thinking fairly depraved thoughts.

On taller women it doesn't matter particularly, boots are generally fine.

Tomkat 19 Jun 2006 16:04

Re: Shoes

You might want to wear some clothes as well as shoes if you're hoping to give off a non-slutty look.

My shoes that I wear everyday are barely still in one piece. Still, i'd probably never socialise with the kind of people who judge me by my shoes, or anything other than who i am

I check out women in their entirity. In fact only last Thursday as soon as i met Lynne on the way into work i asked her if she was wearing new shoes. Turns out they're old ones but she doesn't normally wear them. I declare my heterosexuality VERY loudly though so i'm sure nobody thinks i'm gay.

Go team Rattle.

You need to start telling people that you want to rape women or touch young girls in their no-no places. That's how i dispell any potential rumours that i might be gay.

If it's true then I'm never having sex again :(

Although I suppose I could buy new shoes.

Re: Shoes

Those particular shoes say young and free, they do not say blow jobs for free. They are fine shoes in the appropriate setting. Don't wear them to court or work but to a club they would be fine. They could get attention but not of the wrong kind imo.

I tend to look at womens shoes when im bored and after I looked at the rest of her. It doesnt matter greatly to me although some girls have told me if men where good shoes it matters, so I always try and match my shoes to my clothes than wearing one generic pair I shift between about 5.

are the women who follow these "golden rules" the same ones who are constantly making those "ALL MEN ARE SHIT, I HATE THEM ALL!" comments?

oh and the shoes seem nice enough in a "im alternative" kind of way

Re: Shoes

its not the way you walk,
its not the way you hold your fork,
its not the stupid things you say in bed when I come in your face.
the way you hold a cigarette,
the way you smile when you're wet,
the way you make me cups of tea when I stay round at your place.

chorus:
its just the shoes you wear,
its your shoes that turn me on,
I dont choose to stare,
so please dont get me wrong

I think your shoes can say alot,
'bout who you are or who you're not
so much more than gloves or coats or hats or glasses can,
but when I see you out in heels,
then I know your not for me.
but the difference thing is your wearing converse all stars

chorus

instrumental bit

chorus

its the shoes you wear
so please don't get me wrong
its the shoes you wear
its the shoes that turn me on

I'd be more worried about unwanted attention from falling over those things are huge.

Ste posting old Jesse James lyrics :o I haven't heard from them in ages but then again I've not had much time to see or hear about many bands in the past year, just did a Google and found they're still about, decent band :)

shoes rock, i do tend to notice them when i am out, but not in everyday situations, although i do tend to notice new rocks on people and despise them most of the time for looking like they have frankenstein feet

i honestly can't remember the last time i noticed a woman's shoes. i don't think in the past month.

anyway, it's all pretty irrelevant because those shoes simply don't look slutty to me.

Jennifer 20 Jun 2006 19:51

Re: Shoes

I wouldn't say they're slutty. They're rather funky, though I wouldn't wear them, mostly cos I'd just fall over.

I don't look at guys shoes, but if I happen to notice them and they're old and particularly dirty, it does put me off.

I don't think I've ever judged a guy based on his shoes, although I suppose I would be put off by someone who wore trainers all the time.

Those shoes are not slutty, and would probably scare a lot of guys off, though they'd never admit it.

Re: Shoes

It´s a rediculous, illogical thing that is very unconfirmed, like men who have big hands supposedly have long dongs.

But since 80% believes it, why not put some money in your footwear.

Sarina_Joy 21 Jun 2006 11:11

Re: Shoes

I'd do you if I saw you wearing them, I dunno if that makes you slutty or not.

What else are you wearing, pics pls?

I don`t think the shoes in question are "slutty": a mere fashion accessory. If you like them, and feel good in them, and can afford them; then buy them? I have to say the coloured design suggests you support any "fire fighters industrial action"*.

PS What on earth use can you possibly have for seven pairs of the same shoes?

It's called a fetish.

The only thing I care about as far as shoes is if the woman's wearing them, I don't give a crap what they are, or how much they cost.
