Ive never been a fan of the clientele at the nightclub where i work part time, and its got to the stage where i just take the piss out of them now :(
To emphasise my point, a few weeks ago i drew on my hand with a black pen the double bar symboy that chris martin from Coldplay had on his own arm, in a show of support for one of my fav bands , whose album had just been released at the time.
Anyway at work the girls tries to chat me up, and im suspicious as soon as i see the gypsee style see through white skirt, with matching see through white top and fake tan.
But the Conversation proceeds as follows anyway

<Nedgirl> hmm havent heard of them before are you winding me up?
<Rinoa> *laughes* and pauses, hmm yeah sorry i was its a prison tattoo...

<Rinoa> OKay ill be honest with you we scan our hands to open the tills ( i make a scanning gesture on our card reader with my hand and she nods her head.

at this point she storms off and im sitting laughing looking at my obviously pen drawn on tattoo thinking wtf am i doing here. So to summarise dont ever come to this nightclub :D

Moderate to short sentences, each one line apart, using some pretty poor grammar and little punctuation. The reasons you highlighted why the post could not have been yours were exactly the reasons why I was "What the..." upon reading it.

So thanks for stating the obvious and reaffirming my observations.

I didn't mistake it, but then I didn't really read it.

1. Neither of you have an avatar, so the poster cannot be quickly identified out of the corner of the eye.

2. You use double spacing between every line of your post.

3. You don't use capital letters at the beginning of the lines.


At a glance, I can see how it would be difficult to distinguish between the two of you.

If I was going to do a "Huh huh Yahwe is a homosexual" joke for some inane reason, it would a) actually be a joke, and b) be funny. The only thing that happened here, was that due to the post formatting being pretty much identical to yours, I was under the initial assumption that I was reading a post made by you.

When I read the "i'm gay" part, I was very confused because it's not something you would normally if ever say in such a post, although it did not completely dissuade me from being under the impression that it was still your post. The rest of the post such as the "i c" and the "o btw coldplay rule" made me think for a second that you had made some sort of very strange "comedy-sarcasm post" that I wasn't getting, before I turned my eyes left and read that it was someone completely unknown.

That is what I commented upon, not the fact that the word "gay" was in the post. If you took some sort of offense to what I said, I'm more than willing to apologize, but the next time you feel the need to read things into posts that aren't there or victimize yourself, leave me out of it, thanks.

I'm rolling my eyes at this.

For someone who is reading a lot into posts, you don't seem to be very good at reading what is actually written.What I posted was not a joke, merely a remark. If you didn't find it funny, that's great, because it was never intended to be funny. I may occasionally make jokes that are of questionable quality, but I'd like to think that when I do, they are not of the "lol a gay" category.

Someone without an avatar and thus lacking the normal quick visual representation of the poster, just like you have, made a post with no capitalisation and double line spacing, just like you do. This had me under the impression that I was going to be reading a post made by you. The poster stated that he was a homosexual, just like you are, but then the contents of the post were completely unlike something you would normally post.

Since hardly any newcomers ever come onto General Discussions, my first subconcious thought was not "Oh, this is clearly someone I've never seen before", but "What the hell is Yahwe talking about?". Then, I looked to the left of the post and noticed that it was in fact someone else, clearing up all confusion. Then, I decided to make a post about it.

Now, if you somehow want to read into that that I must be homophobic, and was somehow trying to make a cheap dig at homosexuals, then I can only ask what you are on. Saying "Hey, I thought for a moment this post which is identical to the posting style that Yahwe uses, was in fact made by Yahwe, but I was seriously wondering what the hell he was on about as it was wildly different from anything Yahwe would post" does not somehow in my mind constitute a joke, an insult or a dig, nor does it contain some subliminal message.

I did not even refer to the "gay" part of the post, I did not highlight it, I did not even mention it. But because it contains the word "gay" and many people like to make "lol a gay" jokes, that's obviously what I must have been doing, right? Well, you're flat out wrong. And continually stating that I was in fact making a cheap joke at the cost of homosexuals around the world, does not somehow change the fact that that is not true.

Now if you wish to make a stand against homophobic comments, that's great and I'm all the way with you. But a) there was no homophobia or notion of it going around in this thread until you brought it here, and b) you are preaching to the choir, as I myself place great value on personal freedom in all aspects, regardless of and including sexual preference.

Because you just went from a pretty good plea against homophobic remarks, back to your overused "It is impossible to mistake a post for one made by someone else" argument, which is plain bollocks, as we've seen for example with Ste and Stew.

So now there are three options available to us:

• You thought you saw a homophobic remark, was annoyed, found out you were wrong and are trying to cover it up by continually repeating that there was a homophobic remark. Because hey, if you say it frequently enough, it must be true.
• You saw a pretty good opportunity to troll, thought you could play the gay sympathy vote to get it going, and have succeeded in doing so for a pretty good while.
• You saw a dig at homosexuals around the world, you still continue to see it, and you genuinely believe your assumptions cannot possibly be wrong, so now you're clinging on to them and defending them claw and tooth.

So which one is it, Yahwe? And if you go for option one or three, I would seriously like to know from you exactly what dig was made at homosexuals. What negativism exactly was made about homosexuals in general or about you in particular?
