Personal agendas

When alliance leaders use their own members/alliance to settle their own personal agendas!

Unfortunately is that more common then ever. Old grudges (personal) etc are playing a major part in alliance politics today.

Even if you aren’t involved in alliance politics, it’s rather easy to figure out why some are hostile on whom etc…..

Question is, does alliance HC:s make politics to serve their members well-being,
some sure is but does all?

Re: Personal agendas

I agree with you.

I think some HC will do what is best for the alliance. They are also probably the ones who will suceed.

I said it several times last round, it was the narrow minded thinking and hatred of the HC of Angels and ND which meant that neither won and they handed the round to eXilition.

If both sides managed to put aside the personal agendas and hatred of one another then I am pretty sure eXil would not have won. That is my personal view at least.

The ND v Angels thing is almost comic as both were insignificant in the fact they hadn't won a round, yet regarded each other so highly that instead of concentrating on the real enemy they believed they had to fight a fight which had been occuring for the past 5 rounds.

I am pretty sure if the HC of both alliances put past personal agendas (or perhaps it was the mentality of the alliances as a whole) then they would have ended with more top 100 planets and one of them would have been #1.

I reckon in the past HC used alliances to get there own back on certain groups of people, at least in the days where there were several hundred people who you could send off attacking for a laugh.

I must admit being in several bgs, occasionally we settled our own personal battles for the crack. Nothing wrong really, an enemies an enemy.

Re: Personal agendas

I would say that every single player in pa has a 'personal agenda'. This will at times conflict with the alliance.

For me (and I am not HC), my agenda is simply a stress relief.

I have an incredibly stressful job, in which it is essential for me to stay in control and calm at all times.
PA is a stress relief for me, where I can come on, threaten a few people, stick there planet on red and enjoy it. It gives me that release from real life.

I always try and ensure I use this 'aggression' to the benefit of my alliance, but of course there will be times when I have had a really bad day and overstep the mark.

Just a little question.

Who said it was for the best of the alliance to win a round?

jerome 10 Mar 2007 12:44

Re: Personal agendas

well is there any other reason to play other than to win, or be entertained? surely can't be the latter in pa.. ;)

Its a personal agenda, that means its just that, personal.

I can hardly speak for someone else on that now, can i?

Seems your personal agenda is to follow me around the boards trolling me, whilst pissing a potential win ingame up the wall.

Go you!

LOL, seems u have that much of an ego that u actually think im bothered to follow u around boards, its just every thread i read, ur in it giving ur own andy gray like take on the situation.

As for pissing my round away, i havent been able to participate in the last 2 weeks of pa, because of uni and various poker tournaments around the newcastle area. Also, i had a fun round, so i dont mind what happens to much, not every1 takes pa as seriously as you forest :salute:

Go Me!

Try read the opening post and you might understand why Forest wrote what he did. If you still don't understand it, you should have your knee checked.

Hehheh

Imo the most legendary forest quotes are always the "yeah my sources here (and there) told me so" having no roots whatsover in reality. Anyhow, not that I care or anything.. I just suppose keepin the forum alive with silly shit can't be all so bad, while thinkin we are dying here more or less anyway :)

Having put aside the caresness and given the fact you'll maybe not have to wank to reach godlike levels tomorrow I'd have to say yes.

Nonetheless go find rl and stuff. :)

in that case Forest, u could make up ur reason for losing at start of round :salute:

and yes, ofcourse at start of round, right before uni starting up properly again (first 3 weeks of round we had exams, which i had none of, so no uni), and then winning 2 weeks free entry in every competition in the local casino in Newcastle, meaning i was out every night until 4amish playing poker, and inbetween trying to work during TP times. Yes ofcourse its a good excuse. :D Then again, its been a good round i guess, lots of erm.... well....

Hopefully all the above excuses are valid for u Forest, but maybe you will have "proof", which "only certain ppl know what i mean". :D

As everyone knows the stat that I consider important is the alliance one. And the alliance I am in usually wins :D

Even Omen threatned to win, even with you there trying your best to derail it.

"usually" - 8 rounds ago? or did you actually play round 14 and 17 when you had no opposition?

Forest 11 Mar 2007 11:22

Re: Personal agendas

Every round since r10, excluding the exi wins, and including the omen high finish cause that was as good as a win.

What about the Ascendancy win?
1up won round 11, 12, 14, 17 - you weren't even active for the latter 2 iirc.

This is the same as me claiming credit for eXilition's round 19 win because I was allianceless and was in on one fleetcatch with them as well as defending Desse! I took part in their win afterall!
I also defended an eXi player in my gal a few times in round 18 - I took part in their win then too!
