annoying british accents
there's a girl at work who's got the most annoying british accent i've heard so far.
she can't pronounced 'eee' it always comes out like 'ay' like 'isn't that lovelay' or 'how have you bayn' i don't know why but this irritates me. but other than that she's really nice and funny so it's ok. i finally asked her where she's from and she said from near manchester are there worse accents out there? |

There's nothing worse than hearing a broad Cumbrian accent on the radio/TV.

I like the Yorkshire accent on women (not sure what part exactly) e.g Melanie Sykes in the old Boddingtons adverts "would you like a flake in that?" |

The Welsh accent.
I defy anyone to find any other accent more annoying. |
Re: annoying british accents
Some welsh accents can sound quite sexy actually.
A strong birmingham accent is so depressing though. In my mind it just sounds like they're saying "Ohhhh **** I wiiiiish I was deaaaad" whenever they talk. EIRE accents are sexy as hell. |

my least favourite accent is probably "south london chav", if i hear a girl speak like that, however good looking they are, i immediately lose interest. thats probably just because I was brought up to look down on people who spoke like that though :) |

1)Ned/jakie Glasweigan accent (example) Whit ya doin ya bam gie us yir carry oot or ill pit yir heed threa a windae! 2) Annoying scottish East coast accent (example) Fair aboots are ye headin oot tonight? aye a ken a place well 3) Silly coarse inverness accents 4) southern should be in england Border accents ( Note i usually avoid talking to people with this accent as the accents just grinds on me. But we do have two great accents 1) The Highland male accent, (sexy and deep as spoken by my own lips) 2) The Outer Hebridean female accent ( those high and low changes are second in pure audio delight only to their irish cousins!) |

Re: annoying british accents
I say love-lee
because it's the correct way to say it. |

Re: annoying british accents
I keep finding myself saying "Is it" instead of "orly" or "you serious?" sometimes. It's a South London thing and it makes me sound shit.
I don't say it at school, luckily. It's like swearing, I just don't allow myself to do it. |

which is not normal unless you live in birmingham. it's vile. the black country accent is less vile. but still vile. don't ever try to tell me what I meant again. |

Re: annoying british accents
I like most accents. They make things more interesting. I would hate it if everyone sounded the same.

Re: annoying british accents
The standard birmingham accent isn't too bad actually, I agree with Add. It is the black country one that Aryn seems to be describing.
A brummie accent isn't strong enough for it to sound like that. |
Re: annoying british accents
"lovelay" is how someone doing an exaggerated impression of a midlands accent might say it; no-one there actually would (retards excepted)
besides which, the bint in question is explicitly identified as being from "near manchester" |

I expect that you've got one of those god awful birmingham accents. hence your trying to defend them. |
