I can post, but I can't access the GD main page, meaning I'm forced to rely on the 'Last post' button :(

This thing is shitted up yo.
Most of the people in #forums appear to be without any access.
I somehow have super-duper-full-access despite not having anything at all 40 minutes ago.
Some of you have partial access.

Just what the hell is going on?*

Re: A local thread for local people

If I log out I can browse the forums.

I can then log in to answer threads I see.

But when i've posted this (unless I log out) I will get that white page error message.

So my solution is not 'good', it just works.

But I'm technophobic so I'm still quite proud :)

Re: A local thread for local people

Well I went to #jolt on quakenet where I spoke to a very nice chap called 'Tycow'.

He was incredibly understanding and has posted a message on the jolt admin forum so that the problem will be noticed as soon as possible.

He really couldn't have been kinder to me, nor could he have done more to help.

'Perhaps' this issue was caused by an upgrade. 'Perhaps' jj was informed about it. 'Perhaps he should have been around at 11pm to respond to the pms. 'Perhaps' he should read his text messages.

But what matters now is solving the problem.

As I said in #forums - "what's done is done and can not be now amended. men shall deal unadvisably sometimes" all that matters is fixing the problem not apportioning blame.

So until that time I recommend logging out (this gives you freedom to read the boards) and only logging in in order to post.

It now appears to be fixed.
And no the lord high James did not know of any maintenance or upgrades that were planned.

And no we still don't know what actually happened either :(

works now but didn't at 3:30 this morning when I got in.
and hasn't worked all day til now...

I've had to make loads of really good threads over on plastic brilliance in order to kill time (those cartoons are ace - go see)

meglamaniac 14 Apr 2006 19:32

Re: A local thread for local people

No idea why it's suddenly fixed again, it wasn't 60 minutes ago - well not for me anyway. I spoke to an op in #jolt over on quakenet around 2 hours ago and he said he'd notify the relevant authorities, not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

There's still been absolutely no information on what the cause of all this is/was.

I issued a request in the pateam channel at 10:30 as to 'what in the feck is going on with the forums' or words to that effect. Jolt were offline and unavailable.

Noone texted me except phil to inform me the forums were down...which i already knew because i had already tried to find out what was going on.

It wasnt an upgrade and i wasnt informed about it.

'just to give you the down low yo'

'just to give you the down low yo'

who do you think bullied phil until he texted you?

and who do you think went on quakenet #jolt rather than expecting pateam to know their arse from their elbow?

but still.

the most important thing is fixing them. Are they properly fixed?

do we know what caused it?

meglamaniac 15 Apr 2006 01:35

Re: A local thread for local people

It's easier to answer your questions in reverse order.

"Do we know what caused it?" - No. We have a request up on the mods board (which a Jolt rep reads once in a blue moon) to get info when they feel like giving it to us. I think JJ has emailed someone further up the chain but nothing as yet, because as we found earlier, no-one at Jolt is really responding much.

"Are they properly fixed?" - Maybe. See previous answer.
