Tag limits and alliance set up.

This suggestion will be small. As the topic of tag limits has been debated again and again and again and again.

This however is not on limits, it is on the counted score. It is also lots of thinking out loud, but trying to steer the discussion in a constructive way.

As I see it, there are some people who want to play with a small group of friends and want to be competitive while forcing this way of play on the rest of the community. The rest of the community brings in arguments why this not only is a silly idea, but why it is bad for the game.

Maybe it should be allowed to create a few tiers, maybe for starters just 2 tiers, of alliances. The first type we will call (for arguments sake) Small and the other type Big.

Small alliances have a tag limit which is arbitrarily set, but small (maybe even through a poll) and these alliances can nap and ally with other alliances and this will give them the opportunity to defend eachother (maybe even with a bonus). They count for full.

Big alliances have no tag limit, but they cannot ally themselves in the universe through any way or nap themselves in any way. Small alliances can NAP with big alliances (aka, small cannot be attacked by big) but big can always be attacked by everyone. As a way of 'leveling' the score we can say that 150% of the small tag size of big tags count or some other arbitrary number or that the complete big tag counts.

The biggest pro in the model (the actual numbers, bonusses etc should be refined/debated) is that it allows for the coexistence of both playing styles which are advocated on these forums while, I think, the disadvantages of the small tag limit formula are largely negated. (Correct me if I am wrong)

Thoughts, ideas?

If you want to call it that, yes.
