I feel dirty being on the internet on Christmas Day.

Did any of you go to church on Christmas Eve, or intend to today?

Yeah, Christmas Day mass. Full of people who never go normally, nervously finding a seat, not knowing what to do, standing when they should kneel, mumbling through prayers they half remember.
It's entertainment (for about 2 minutes).
Little baby son-of-a-bitch kicking his sister and screaming. Little miss tantrum combing her dolls hair while pouting. Children ramming action men toys into unsuspecting people.
Ahh they joys. :P

Nope! Instead, I de-wrapped my shrine to capitalism :)

no
1. it'd be hypocritical to go to church if i don't go the rest of the year
2. it'd be hypocritical to step foot in a church if i didn't believe in that crap in the first place... and
3. i go to the round church so the devil can't corner me!

but merry christmas etc

Does that mean there isn't a christian inclination in you?

The consumerist reason.

I intended to go to church - even just to give thanks for my health, for my family/friends, for the year etc.

I'm not entirely sure I believe in God, but that doesn't matter. You can still go to church.

I didn't go - I was a bit too lazy.

Posting to agree with Aryn.

christmas was secular before religion took it over. Not the other way round. Much like Easter in fact.

I didn't go to church this year, but I did sing along with the choir boys from Kings.

They did loads of cheesy crap like Rutter's what sweeter music. It was great.

Re: Christmas Day: Merry Christmas

If you don't count weddings and funerals, I haven't been to church for over 20 years. Even in those days when I went to church I avoided Chrismas services as they were even longer and duller than normal. Besides, I already knew how the story would end.

No it wasn't. Before Christ was around, Christmas most emphatically did not exist.

I see you missed the memo redefining what christmas means.

PS I went to midnight mass with my family and grandmother. I'd say I probably infected at least 20% of the church with my cold as well which must have been a fantastic christmas present for some of them.
