Was pretty much a defplanet for ally, so I hardly attacked(had about 3 times as many defences as attacks). Satisfied with my planet, had high value all round long, and managed to end up in t100 thanks to avoiding incs due to having high value and being active in a random gal. Dropped about 30 ranks in the last two weeks due to one miscalced def and one attack where target stayed home. |

Nonetheless it was a gal where those of us who wished to play a bit more active could without gal raids. We did not suffer any early incs (except a few randoms) and it was not until wars started that incs came in. Unfortunately we were rather split so could not def much ingal. Vamp deleted and I still dont know why, I assume because of his crash, but going down to 50th is hardly a dire rank. Having gotten no incs for most of the round the last 3 weeks we (shev and I) had loads due to the block hitting asc. Worked well with me covering shev's fi incs and him covering my de incs time and again. Overall not a bad round (my best rank since I joined asc) mostly played as a kind of support planet launching where I was told on attack and sending lots of defence. |

Didn't have much incs due to the fencing nature of our gal for a good while. It was quite boring playing without a goal or purpose. Once ellonweb got some roids it was fun, but we were fighting a losing battle and it was easier to keep BlueArmy on top. Got 1 day incs, when Asc got targetted heavy, but it was at a day I would be busy, so I decided not to get def. After that I mostly defwhored and decided on time to attack and I capped 300 roids on a pretty fake. After that I idled out of top 100, but on the last tick I landed def on BlueArmy and the salvage got me top 100 and beating Sun Tzu. Consistently not caring is what my round was about. Theam |

Re: Who We Were R37
Im just going to post because my fleet and strategy was totally different from all other Etd's.
My fleet (as i remember it) 1,100,000 Voyager 300,000 vsharrak + other xan flak. 85,000 avenger 270,000 merchants 300,000 Vendor 115,000 Defender 70,000 tycoon 70,000 Broker 5,000 pillager Attacking: Started out building enough merchants to fake my BS 2x. Switched to massing Vendors for faking ziks with fake BS, accomponied by terran BS teamups. Spent most of the round faking BS while deffing with broker+tycoon+avenger in order to potentially kill etd/ter faked BS. Always went for large targets, so my XP was decent, but the rank dropped a lot the last 2 weeks. Defending: Had to mass voyagers to make it easier to cover the mass fi/co waves on my planet. A few ~15man cr/bs teamups tried to roid me but i was aware of them the night before and a few people held back their nightmare/ghost and drake/chima for me. Had long periods without incs, but that huge amounts i had at times made up for it. Harvested a lot of salvage on deffing others. In the end my planet had generated 900k value in salvage, of which 700k was the profit. A round generally coloured by defending more then attacking. In between incs i managed to land huge roids, which combined with the salvage in periods without attacking helped keeping my value up. Re: Who We Were R37
Bit late to this thread (been busy with other things) but I wanted to record my take on the round somewhere before I forgot.
You are: John Nash (7:3:7) Cat (Clear) Size: 601 523 Value: 8,191,650 5 Score: 8,937,390 6 XP: 12,429 508 Started a week late as I was busy getting drunk after my exams. Preround, people in Asc generally seemed disinterested in solid/fortress gals and a serious round, so joined Theam in a fence galaxy. I wanted a semi-relaxing round without the pressures of having to deal with serious inc, so we had a plan where I'd spend the round donating my resources to the galaxy. Keeping my value low and being in the fence gal kept incomings on me to a minimal that were easily defended by my gal mates. Took a while to get going as I'd missed a week and it took a bit of time to catch the roids up, but soon enough I'd donated I think 500k value to Osiris and 250k value to NewDawn galmates. Around this point was when BlueArmy ruined the round for me! :P Being the clear #1, he attracted for a couple of days a lot of incoming, and this brought Asc more seriously into war and the round in general. It became clear that I couldn't continue to donate value away to Ascendancy's enemies, and so I had to change my plan and start playing a proper value planet. This was at week 3, and I had almost no fleet value and no resources stocked, but I was #1 on size and had quite a large income lead. Asc expected to avoid incoming for another week after that, so after some discussions, it was decided I should start to stock my res and maximise my roiding for one more week, before spending it all in anticipation of the block turning their attention to us. Over the course of week 4 I quickly found my way from ~500th to the t10. While spending my res, I accidentally added 500k Viper to an order instead of 50k, which is why I had the retardedly high Viper count. Once the incoming started it was clear I wasn't going to stand a chance at winning. I continued to gain on those in front of me for a while but BA and Asc's other top planets had an extreme amount of support in comparison to myself. I had more inc than everyone else over these weeks, BA didn't come close and had about 5 or 6 people DCing for him; I had to do almost every wave myself. Except for a couple of people, Theam especially, most in Asc didn't like the perceived easy route I'd had to my rank and didn't want to help (some people actively refusing to help me). I guess hardcore attacking for three solid weeks is easier than receiving escorts and having a whole gang of support planets dedicated to you. In answer to those that accused me of a lack of team play: had my planet not been in the position it was, that incoming would have still been sent on other Asc planets; who then, would do all the DCing that I did? I had further bad luck as I ended up getting quite ill and having to go to hospital for a bit during weeks 5/6; playing PA became the last thing on my mind and I lost any remaining interest I had in the round. In the end of round I was happy to help BA win. I didn't really care about the "crash" on coolkat, it didn't affect me really; the people who ended above me were always going to overtake me with the roid leads they had, and they were all Asc planets anyway so I didn't mind. Guess I kind of failed in my preround plan of staying out of the t500! |
