I started the round in 8:2, who were gracious enough to exile me when I explained that I'd rather land in a galaxy with friends. I stuck in c200 for about 12 hours and then landed in 2:4 together with Lok, Stoom and Alki. Alki had gone Terran and that really shaped the gal's round in many ways. We ended up getting some good exiles, and the gal was doing quite well despite a lot of incoming.

I started out doing a little CO, but lost my first 60k voyagers to stupidity. Then I went pure BS, which made capping roids easy. I built defense as I needed it, supplying the galaxy mostly with fake or real tycoons. The high point of the round was this landing on Nitro together with Alki.

My round began in a fun way, i rushed cr and landed with cr tick 91 didnt leave the t10 at all unless i had stuff in prod.

Cathaar was shocking i owe alot to my gal, i managed to achieve top cath by along way. My hilight was yesterday WP launching 11 waves and 35 fleets to pull all of them

Total Fleets Launched: 204
Total Incomings Received: 429

Ah well. i had fun altho getting up to incs almost every day was crap and cath cr was REALLY overrated. I launch/recalled when i could but usually ended up attacking afternoons when the incs had cleared and my roaches had returned from ingal def against fr.

Fun times :

Started the round as 15:6:1, BPed with Kenny. After 137 ticks we decided the gal was too shit to stay in, so we exiled out. After 2 exiles I ended up in 2:7, which already had 5 Ascendancy in it before I showed up, so I decided to stick around. Spent the round scanning (clocking in at nearly 6000 scans) and defending ingal. Lost 17 amps to a cov opper around tick 400 (56 base alert is a killer), after which I had to abandon my plan of 150 amps at tick 755 and build some SCs. After having experienced it, myself I started resource hacking people and donating it to the galfund, as my ships cost too much (+25% cost is a killer) and were too slow (+25% production time is a killer). Incomings all day every day, though not as much as 2:4 (hi Alki). Overall not too bad a round for me.

As you can see on my sandmans, I never had more than 600 roids until after PT 900. Only for the last 4 days of the round did I have any WP def, totaling my total out of galaxy defence fleets for the round: 4. I choose a mines+FCs construction strategy, for a value round, and protected my ships whenever possible, though I did have two crashs from oversleeping during the round. I designed my fleet based on what I needed to protect myself against, and in the end I've got a basic immunity to CO via vendors, FI via theifs+anti-co, FR via 2.9k tycs + 38k harps, DE via 70k cutl + 300k banshee, CR via 12k maras, BS via 36k pirate+de flak (I had somewhere around 50k pirates until i stole off of a careless CT guy during the final ticks here). I bearly had any incoming for the last 300-ish ticks when I had a well developed fleet, and could cover multiple inc classes with my fleets. Attack-wise I used a LOT of fake fleets, some of the better ones i'll include below:

FI as FR

CO as FR
http://game.planetarion.com/show_news.pl?id=10376
CO as DE

I had a LOT of fun with Zik this round. It was ace!

On an intresting side note, in round 19 I had my planet changed from the ruler/planet "Sophie Moore" of "Precious Pink" as my entire BP (LORD-NIKO, BA, and some others) had chosen porn star of porn movie ruler/planets, but due to the game's PG rating, I was forced to change my ruler/planet by the admins. Well, this round I chose another iffy-ruler/planet combination, but this time I wasn't forced to change it.

Xandathrii were a tricky race this round and required superlative planet management. I set my self a gameplan of small gains and to have value gains to match my roids and I have to say it paid off very well, as I'm the 4th biggest Xan. I went with Feudalism but didn't opt for mass finance centres. I went for mining to gain a minimum level of income and curtailed my ability for finance centres by getting amps, dists, reasonably early fleet analysis for a xan going feudalism and security centres to protect the stockpile I planned for.

I buddypacked with Stoom and Alki who went terran, which meant I got a lot of constant incoming but that also meant my tactic was the best one to pursue, as i ended up having 4 days off all round which meant I had to keep it tight. My fleet balance was greatly helped by jesterina, who I consulted with as to what ships what we needed for me to attack and make gains and as to what we needed for in galaxy defence.

My main source of roids early on was using sandmans to get my targets of choice which were terrans with FI. I then added a serviceable FR fleet and did the same. Midround I decided to shift to bigger targets by going on raids and I built my roidcount up to a healthy 2.2k, which was the highest for any xan at the time. Obviously this was helped by impeccable management of defence by jesterina and stoom in 2:4, which meant that a reasonably high level of incoming was dealt with without too many problems. Their input to my planet is highly appreciated and I hope they take some pride in my ranking.

I then got wrecked by a good portion of conspiracy attacking me, fortunately by that point I had built up a 120 million stack and used it to build an insane amount of FI and decided to lead a party to pick off a large Etd. Had I know how effective mass FI were, I'd have joined the party sooner, it's very very difficult to stop. I'm not sure if i've got the highest FI count in the universe, I hope so though.

Xan had a tough round where you needed to be prepared to sacrifice yourself to defend to be of any use to your galaxy or alliance and i often found myself 3 fleet defending because that was the best way to save roids for me and my galmates. My hat goes off to Achilles who has played a superb round with Xan in equal adversity and has finished #1 xandathrii. I have no doubt that he deserves it.

Infact there are a few xans who deserve much higher ranks than they got, because they were a very technical, methodical race to play and needed a lot of thought to do well with if you mainly relied on your galaxy. This isn't my best rank, but it's the best I've played so far, simply because of the planning that went into playing it, the discipline I showed by sticking to my gameplan 100% and the fact that there was a degree of difficulty to do well with Xandathrii this round.

It was a fun and good round, in the beginning It was easy to keep a good value as a xan, midround, it went very bad. Lotsa Bs/Cr/Fr inc. Builded alot anti cr/Bs. The Cr inc stopt, but it never mattered how much Spectres I got, they kept comming. I had more Etd-Bs inc as Xan-Fr inc. Strange thing, I never had Ter-Bs inc.

I roided mainly with a Fi fleet. Only the last 3 weeks I builded a fr fleet. But still got more roids with my Fi pods as the Fr one.

For Gzambo -- I had 3 ziks in my gal, who sended me so many ingal defence fleets. Thanks to harps and tycoons.

btw my gal started with 4 Xan - 4 Ziks. nice setup, we had no Cath whole round and got 1 Terran later. A totally ****ed up gal setup. But gal defence was ace!!! trough the whole round, I think the best I have seen sately.

Started out in 12:2, not a very active galaxy, but ok considering i was slow starting anyway by finishing ship & eta research first, mainly defending ingal and picking up some extra salvage that way. Left on holiday for 9 days roughly 2 weeks into the round. Considering my size and value i decided to keep my planet open, gambling on not being owned while i was away (as i had no intention of logging in). Turned out my planet happily gathered 12mil of each resource while i was away (including the salvage from my fleet being killed), and thus me still having a respectable value despite having missed about half of the round up to that point. When i got back my original gal had died, did one exile and ended up in 17:2 which turned out to be a very nice gal (although a bit inactive towards the end).

I didn't really attack that much, out of my 110 launches 27 were attack missions. My Merchants, Dealers, Investors and Tycoons where a much needed defence tool and i ended up wasting most of my slots with them. I basicly used my BS fleet to attack with and get some roids (didn't have a decent CO fleet untill the last week of the round), rarely used my Tycoons there as i kept them home to help defend ingal or cluster vs the nasty Xan FR. I always kept a 'balanced' fleet and generally made sure i could stop roughly equal ship value in each class (apart from Merchants and especially Brokers which i had more off, and Voyagers which i had only in low numbers).

Had a fun round (apart from my daily unofficial DC shift :() and was happy to see we (as in xVx) managed to get 7 planets in the top 100.

Pretty darn funny round, exiled into a awesome gal a little while into the round and the fantastic cooperation ingal really made this round good for me. Had it not been for my galmates my fairly laidback playingstyle would not have gotten me as high as it did. I didnt really have any good attack fleets through the round as i spent most of my time doing the same as Benneh, just deffing ingal and sending out attacks in the afternoons. I seemed to be well hated by CT this round(4 times more inc from them than the any other ally) so they had a nasty habit of whacking me down evertime i got some roids :(

All in all a awesome round, zik was quite good except for the pain to get enough anti fr and bs.

This round began just as expected. I went random as a free planet and got exiled several times because of my low ammount of initiated roids and the fact that i played a free-account, heh.
People did not believe me that 12 roids are just enough to have fun with.
I never had any big value because i never managed to hold on those rocks for longe once i capped some.
Then I started my little war again WP and i must say this was the best thing to do. I dont know exactly how many roids i got from them, maybe 3k??
All i know is that i managed to grab 1500 within two nights :-) Always attacking much bigger targets than me of course!
FAKING FTW!!!!!!!
As every round it is amusing to see incompetend dc that do not manage to send the right def. Or is it my l33t skill that makes it impossible to get the right def?? Maybe its the god of beer giving me part of his powers.....

Just too bad that my lemmingrun did not work as intended, still got a bunch of ships left. And Antigone´s counter landed same tick as my suicide. So those lost roids did not count and therefore im not #1 total roids lost aswell :-(

All in all it was a funny round

Prost!!!

I think xan were a rather tricky race to get the hang of, most of my fleet composition and target selection came about through a number of inebriated discussions with H1TMAN. I went for mass finance centers and rushed travel time but didn't start attacking until relatively late in it. By that time it was obvious that there weren't going to be many large terrans out there worth launching on and I got my 150k mares rather quickly. Xan fr was an impressive force midround and I landed some big attacks which lead to a largish XP boost early on. Unfortunately later in the round landing FR just got more and more difficult with all the tycoons and harpies flying around - but at that point mass FI was viable again for big ETD hunts.

Getting xp early on proved to be a crutch since I was in a more visible position, with low value, and that xan tag shining like a bright neon "roid me" sign. In the end I think xan, more than any other race this round [except cathaar but who plays them anyway], really required a cooperative galaxy to truly excel with. They could be helpful defenders - at the expense of being able to attack - and required a lot of in-gal def to have any hope of holding roids.

All in all it was an unexpectedly fun round :)

[I believe stoom had the most xan FI by the end?]

I clearly had the best co-ords of the round - it didnt take me long to rename my fleets Hells Angels , Devil Worship and Satan is Calling :D. I buddypacked with a former Visionary from long ago who just wanted to play solo and for laughs, so about 15 mins before tick 36 i had a buddymate! \o/.

Early on, i lost 50k bombers due to sheer stupidity on behalf of my C alliance, and after that only slowly rebuilt more. Most of the round i was hovering around the 250-300 score ranks, which with my three jobs and full time uni isnt bad as i never had any time to attack (i'd never be around at landing time :(). Anyway, given that i could rarely attack, i managed to keep quite alot of my value defending which was great.

I really enjoyed defending my galaxy and my alliance with my uber phantom - i had one phantom that made at least 18 fleets recall against it, and then finally it was lost defending against some Zik on tobbe :(. This signaled the end of Sovereign's good fortune, as after that i kept getting attacked (even though i had no roids*) and right at the end of the round i lost about 2/3 of my FI and about 80% of my CO in one miserable defence (against another Zik, of all things - FR faked as DE ofc :( ).

I used the pitiful amount of salvage i received to init some roids - thus i finished with the highest number of roids i had all round :(.

I didnt really use my frigates much for attack - one thrice or so as a secondary excerise - i found that i had (at the time) enough FI to get through on Etd planets often enough, assuming they didnt get much in the way of defence. effectively, i didnt get through all that often, but when i did, it was alot of free roids - which is always good for value players like me :).

*With another buddypack who seemed pretty active and willing to defend in-gal, we got a few good randoms and soon enough everyone (except me) was actively attacking with 2 or 3 fleets. As such, for most of the round my galaxy had a roid rank of about 15, whilst a score rank outside the top 60. The incs were sporadic (which was surprising), but what was really depressing was that the only planet without any roids (me), would get 6 or 7 waves on me, whilst roidfat and valueless (but still reasonable scored) planets would get one or two. I just dont understand who i annoyed, but the incs i received were really quite silly :(.

Anyway, i had a good time and enjoyed myself this round. I dont really regret my choice of Xan, but towards the end i did feel like a farm :(. But i feel that i contributed far more to my galaxy and my alliance through all the fake defence that i sent that resulted in recalls, and all the real def that resulted in total kills, i think it made up for it. I only launched 22 attack fleets (of 124) all round, but most (pretty much all) of those i recalled instantly due to them getting def right away :( - but those 100+ def fleets i sent really made a difference. As others mentioned above, it was really easy to 3 fleet def with Xan (which i often do anyway ;)) both in-gal, in-c (initially, till crusie wasted my time there, heh), and within Vision.

I tried really hard this round, but I could not hold over 250ish roids for some odd reason. Being cath resulted in people 2-3 times my size attacking me for 40ish roid caps. It was weird, but it opened my eyes to why the same people keep winning.

I wanted to play the round as an xp-round from scratch, and as some of our bc obv. didnt honour xp so much I sometimes found myself teaming up with some ally mates for solo attacks. First teamed up co with etd and zik against big cat. One of those cat forgot to launch his fleet or was trapped, and ended up loosing f!ckload flying out of top 100. http://game.planetarion.com/show_news.pl?id=5611 - As we found out it can be easy stoped by buccs, we began throwing in fis, so there be no 0 loss def for that attacks anymore.

Then switched to attacking ziks with cr - hence my comparably high amount of tarants the whole round. As a cat I had lots of incomings all round and it was good I could rely on ally. An ace job done by ToF. Also special thanks to my BP-Partner Dorwyn (Xan) whose defs and fake-defs got me a long way :) .

The war with subh got me Nightwolf (16:10:1) as an enemy by hearth cause after landing at him despite 4 deffleets for xp (a highlight this round: http://game.planetarion.com/show_news.pl?id=8177 - left me and my partner with an overall scoreincrease of 300k) he kept attacking me every other day. As ToF returned on 16:10 on some occasions after that, I knew what target to take :p - and Nightwolf didnt profit from this at all was left with 400 roids when these attacks and counterattacks ended.

one last successful fi/co attack on another subh-guy 2 days to end was this:

Tick 1: Why did i choose ter?
that was my biggest mistake all round.. terrans cant self cover anything and cant really defend much.. most fleets target them meaning i had more waves than anyone else although i had 300 roids less! my harpys got killed by a xan putting wraith in his fr fleet which meant i lost my main defence! so i mainly went all out attack.. and tried teaming with a few etds.. in the end it turned out to be a good round.. top 200 and rank 4 terran which i am pleased with.. on the last day i decided to risk landing on 50k pirates which meant i could have lost 300k score or more

but he ran and i landed nicely gaining a 600k score boost combined with my prod on the last tick

now i shall sleep through round 22 and return round 23 :)

Started the round of ok, was in t100, gal was competing for #1, but then it all just started falling to pieces.
I lacked the willpower to really be active & try so i just ****ed around a bit with frigs & fake attacks (i had over 120 distorters when the round ended).
At first they worked like a charm on xans caus they had to run their co, but after a while people just kept enough wraiths home to kill a fake.

Think i played my most inactive round ever but it was still fun.
But i'd like to thank pa-team for one of the best rounds in stats & gameplay i've seen in along time :) more ships & more value in the universe sure made it alot more fun

Went etd and for the double your value 206% value boost. Stockpiled until tick 200 or so and then built bs. After I built bs I think I lost roids once. Spent most of my round sending def-fleets, I finished with 99 def-fleets sent I think :( Spent many wasted mornings organising ingal def but it was fun nonetheless. People crashed a ****load of ships at my gal towards the end of the round, seriously guys xp requires you actually cap some roids. I had some good breps but I don't think I saved many of them so my highlight of the round gets to be my gal banner in which I got to invade Persia.

I was sort of disappointed ascendancy didn't win but realistically I don't think many of us consider it worth the effort needed to do so straight-up. It was a fun round anyways and I certainly don't regret playing, something a lot of other people I've talked to seem to do. I'll probably play again next round but work is fairly gay so I dunno.

Edit: People should do more than just post their score and fleet here :(

My reason for chosing terran basically came down tome being an idiot, wanting a challenge, and me and benneh making a pact he goes catharrrgh and i go :terran:. Anyway it was pretty fun, I said to my bp(stoom and lok <3) preround that i was chosing terran, and for it to do well we are gonna have to have a pretty good gal. We got pretty lucky with exiles, tycoons and bombers saved my ass ALOT <3.

It was a hard round, but hey thats why i chose terran, my main stratergy for roiding was to attack with de all round, and thats what i did mostly bar the teamups with etd BS, i would always fake my BS on ziks with pegs+dems, it was a really good combination, the pegasus was a very big underrated ship and was one of the most useful to me.

How i decided how i would keep roids, was basically to make a fleet composition whereby 1 fleet ingal would cover me per wave, be it merchants, tycoons, or bombers, nothing else really hit me, had a few co attackers, but noone had enough vipers/vendors to wipe out my chimera, which also was another underrated ship, the chimera was a pretty fantastic anti co ship if you had it in big numbers.

Anyway alot happened in my round and im too lazy to be arsed to go into it, but funnish round, and all my love to 2:4.

Overall a pretty relaxed round. My nick and alliance was pretty much known to everyone by end of protection, so i dropped the fake nick quite early. Taught me not to bp with Ascendancy friendlies in the future :P
I started stockpiling early, which is the best way to keep small / medium alliance raids off ones back. I was landing almost every attack i made, so i had a good source of income. I had 0 corsairs and used my stockpile to build them when i had xan incs, which worked incredibly nice. The corsairs firepower plus the salvage plus feudalism as government meant that i always at least broke even on value, not counting the roids lost.

http://game.planetarion.com/show_news.pl?id=3758

Thanks to those steals, my fr fleet (at some point i had 32.5k nightmares, which was around the same similar xan mates had) was quite good and was landing every day.

Highlight of my round was seeing this CT planet suicide on me:
http://game.planetarion.com/show_news.pl?id=8140
He probably didn't get an advanced unit, which would have shown i had 200k phantoms which i stole at some point.

Oh, and my thanks go to the planet who broke the cluster nap to attack me (on the last day). If he hadn't done it, i would not have retaled him, taking 500+ roids off him, which gave me the score boost to land in the top 100 \o/

I have to say I really enjoyed the round overall. I focused on FR early and capped all of my early roids using xan FR solo (90% fakes, Fr held ingal to def) with a change to xan/zik FR combo or mass Fi necessary by the round's end. I have to say that my galaxy deserve as much credit for my top xan rank as I do but I guess having 7 Ascendancy ingal (3 BP, 2 exiles, 2 recruits) meant we had a lot of defensive cohesion. Probably won't play actively next round as it's against my policy for summertime but I imagine I'll scan or something to give me an excuse for occasional irc time.

Got my fleet nicked several times early on due to no at-home internet connection, then the BP with Game and Nolez broke up. I managed to exile into 2:4 with some of my favorite people, and remained fairly inactive all round.

I could cap roids, I just couldn't get online at early/late hours to keep them ;)

Thieves suck!

Props to 2:4 and everyone in there, especially my Asc mates who were kind enough to keep me around instead of exiling me out for the #1 spot like last round (fking jernub!)

Actually despite being a complete pain and an absolute ****ing liability in the first half of the round, in the second half of the round Alki actually got much less incoming, because he had a very big fleet and in fact became an asset.

Apart from the large attack by however many alliances bothered to launch on us, we were able to cross defend with ease, with a terran. We actually got to a stage where it appeared as if we never got incoming despite constantly being on the wrong end of alliance raids because we were leaking so few roids we were actually gaining roids regardless of us being hit.

If you played like Alki and you had a galaxy good enough to put up with him (and we only just did) once we rode out the storm, our terran planets became fantastic planets for defence.

My round started as a scanner and had jgps and aload of amps really early. Eventually got Cr and spent shitloads on just roach and hornets thinking that cat Cr doing well so should I. After several crashes etc including one where i was 100% sure that i would land perfect i kinda gave up on the round and went inactive. Spent all my res a few days before and sent it out on a suicide mission for xp which kinda worked, ranked 181st on XP so even in a value round i managed to get a decent amount of xp, shame about no value =/

Not my best round ever. Hoped to get a broadband connection in the beginning of may, but played the whole round without broadband. Had a good connection at work, but were mostly busy at work. At home i had to use my celluar with a crappy connection. So i weren't able to get the defpoints needed to get def, and i had to walk 30 minutes to get to my parents house to be able to join attacks on irc.

Considering that, i only did make a few minor mistakes:
1. While having Xan-incs while being drunk, i did for some reason use lots of res on pegs and lost 1600 of'em. Either something were wrong with the calc, or someone used it wrongly. Common sense should have told me it were a mistake to buy pegs.

2. While being drunk at a friend while my ally were at war, i launched 2 attacks. Lost half my de's and all my bs except from 1 leviathan, because i forgot about it and didn't set my alarm. Since my gal got incs that night that 1 levi annoyed me, almost as much as myself.

3. Later on the same day/night as reason #2 my gal got incs, i made 1 more mistake. Since i were probably the only terran with a decent amount of harpies in my ally, i were a bit worried of loosing them. A galm8's asked me to def against a zik with them, and i got all paranoid, because i didn't get a scan and my ally were at war against the ally of the galm8 who asked me to def against the zik. Almost got myself kicked out of the gal after that. What i posted on the forum, or what i mailed to some of the galm8's is something that i hope will be kept secret.

Not my best round tbh, and i got 3 reasons to be ashamed of myself. Still had a fun round though, because i liked my gal. Most annoying part were that i couldn't be more helpful to my ally or my gal. Also seems that i'm cursed with atleast 1 drunken paranoia incident while being drunk every round.

Also got attacked in RL during havoc, by 4 drug addicts that were looking for my brother (rented his house), and since i reported them to the police i'll probably be a bit more careful about when i'm going out to get drunk. That might actually save me from a crashlanding or 2. Or maybe i'll be more paranoid then ever:/
To be continued....

Atleast going to sign up for next round, since it can't go much worse then this round:D
