Murder Statistics

I've had a look for murder statistics on-line but have had no success. Specifically, I'm looking for information about the situation in which murders occured. Such as, was it committed by a family mmber, spouse, stranger etc...

Anyone have any ideas?

Murder rates rised by a huge amount when Harold Shipman was convicted of murder.

According to Discovery 80% of the murderers that get caught are family

It means that either discovery made up that statistic or you did.

Doesnt almost every crime drama say that a large portion of murder victims knew their killer, and that despite the high profile cases, the majority of sexual crimes are committed by friends and relatives?

They must know their stuff.
