Savages!

I can't wait until the summer holidays are over and all those little bastards are locked up again.

Firstly, some little buggers stole the valve caps off two of my tyres and let them both down.

Once I replaced the valve caps within two days they were gone.

this evening I was distrubed by some noise outside only to find one of the little buggers standing on the ****ing bonnet.

Savages!

Buy a paintball gun. Use them for target practice.

Alternatively, use eggs (far cheaper).

You'll have to clean your car though

That way when you're stabbed / shot to death the Daily Mail can say you were a hero who died making a stand.

He was just doing the neighbourly thing.

It'll start another Daily Mail scheme thing to stop neighbourhood violence and bring back neighbourhood watch schemes. With ex marines.

They're obviously up to mischief stealing dust caps because they're unloved and misunderstood.

No, they're probably doing that because they're bored. And they'd love a reaction from someone so they can spend their (considerable) free time trying to wind you up some more.

But you return to your fantasies about reclaiming the streets from these clearly evil criminal psychotics.

Hey, now you are giving my hometown a bad name for no reason. You live in Penwaun which is nearly 10 minutes away, and far far worse.

Yeah but to be fair, did Aberdare really ever make the list of places you ever wanted to visit?

It's only three miles away and Aberdare can hardly be said to be some kind of Utopia, no matter what you compare it to.

Just a little update.

A man passing just knocked on our door to inform us that my brother-in-law's car has had the driver side of the front windscreen spray-painted.

Re: Savages!

If you do stand up for yourself, you'll most likely end up the victim of a 10 on one kicking or similar.

I'm pretty sure that the 'group of 20' that shot the guy in Newham, was the same group that I took a kicking from about a year ago. They're the only group that hangs around that area in a group that large, and they are definately capable.

Best thing that you can hope to do is ignore it, and hope they move on to somebody else.

Either that or form a vigilante gang and beat them all into one giant soupy mess.

Sorry for the bump again but this is taking the piss.

I now have big **** off dent in the roof of my car after some little **** run up and over it.

What can I do short of waiting in the window with a high-powered rifle?

Strange, I only see the chavs around my area on schooldays, I haven't seen them when going out/coming home during the summer holidays :S

Anyway, you could seriously just try to speak to them - not in a harsh tone, just ask them why they do it, and explain that it costs you lots of money and really irritates you. This will work for some of the people I know, if this doesn't work, just call the police.

All Systems Go 7 Sep 2006 20:21

Re: Savages!

And say what? I've no evidence as who who is doing nor am I even sure it's the same people.

the police can't do anything to help me unless I know who is doing it.

Even if I did witness them doing it then I still wouldn't be able to give any names or addresses.

_Kila_ 7 Sep 2006 20:23

Record them doing it and show it to the police - all the evidence you need.

Even if they do come out (which I seriously doubt they will) what can they do?

vampire_lestat 7 Sep 2006 20:38

Re: Savages!

they do come out, they take your discription of the people in question, and, as they're local pigs, they probably know all the people with a reputation and will probably find them, then it's up to you as to if you want to press charges or not, and it's at this point that you get moved to the bottom of a big pile, never to hear from them again.

Ok now I understand the logic. Lets rob Peter to pay Paul.

James Bond - Tomorrow Never Dies. Give your car a 40k charge to give a little shock to those who touch it!

Seriously though, yahwe may well be right - if you don't report it you don't give them a chance to do anything about it. It's a bit defeatist. Also (assuming you're going to claim from insurance for the damage) the insurance company might be happier with you.

It is hard to know what to do in these situations. How far from your house / windows / etc is your car? Is there street lighting near, or do you have an outside light?

If you give them cause, instead of randomly winding you up they will perhaps start to actively target you more [assuming the things that have happened to you and so on are just a random selection of the things that go on near you]. You either have to make it not worth their while to continue targetting you, or get them onside.

There was the neighbourhood watch thing - especially if many people are at home or around when these things happen. When someone sees something happening, they notify everyone else then they ALL come out of their houses to confront the culprits. There is strength in numbers - even if some of it is psychological.

Well the dent is gone as I went inside the car and pushed it out so no need for insurance.

I live in a semi-detached house and the car is in front of the bits of garden between my house and the house it's not connected to. there's a small garden so it's about 20 feet from the front window. there is street lighting but the car is in between two lamposts so it's not particularly bright.

I can't move it up as the road has been blocked off and it blocks cars turning around if it is directly outside my house. i used to keep it directly in front of the house until this OAP hospital van driver complained about not being able to turn. My street is full of old people.

Oppsoite my house is a grass field and an astroturf football ground where all of the kids hang out. It could literally be any of them. It's 200 yards away but I'm on the only road that leads to it.

It's akward because my neighbours are pretty old, getting a vigilante group is going to be a bit of a challenge. Plus, the kids tend to scarper as soon as they hear/see someone so confronting them is pretty much impossible.#

I'm aware of how defeatist this all sounds but there seems to be little that can be done unless they are caught in the act. Even if I did get a good look at them then I would still have no idea who they were.

Ratcliffe
What can you expect
From filthy little heathens?
Their whole disgusting race is like a curse
Their skin's a hellish red
They're only good when dead
They're vermin, as I said
And worse
English Settlers
They're savages! Savages!
Ratcliffe
Barely even human
English Settlers
Savages! Savages!
Ratcliffe
Drive them from our shore!
They're not like you and me
Which means they must be evil
We must sound the drums of war!
English Settlers
They're savages! Savages!
Dirty redskin devils!
Now we sound the drums of war!
Powhatan
This is what we feared
The paleface is a demon
The only thing they feel at all is greed
Kekata
Beneath that milky hide
There's emptiness inside
Native Americans
I wonder if they even bleed
They're savages! Savages!
Barely even human
Savages! Savages!
Powhatan
Killers at the core
Kekata
They're different from us
Which means they can't be trusted
Powhatan
We must sound the drums of war
Native Americans
They're savages! Savages!
First we deal with this one
All
Then we sound the drums of war
English Settlers
Savages! Savages!
Ben
Let's go kill a few, men!
Native Americans
Savages! Savages!
Ratcliffe
Now it's up to you, men!
All
Savages! Savages!
Barely even human!
Now we sound the drums of war!
