In Soviet Russia...

... the Red October hunts you!

So The Hunt for Red October was just on BBC1. Now I've seen this film a few times, but never completely, so it was nice to finally get a chance to watch it uninterrupted from beginning to end.

(Yes, I did make this thread just to make an "In Soviet Russia" joke)

why all the hate :(

Also, whenever someone mentions the Baldwins, I can't help but think of Mr. Garrison in the South Park movie ("All the Baldwins are dead?!?")

FYI, just starting a random sentence with 'In Soviet Russia' doesn't automagically make it a joke. In order for it to be a joke, it should have content that somebody somewhere might find remotely funny or atleast slightly humourus. In short; that wasn't a joke.

Jack Bauer is more hardcore than Sir John Patrick Ryan.

The normal title of the film is "The Hunt for Red October".

So Demon Dave used the old "Soviet Russia joke" to swap it around, and say "In Soviet Russia, Red October hunts you!".

It works on another level, as the submarine Red October is Russian.

So, it does work.

Don't correct people's jokes, it's very petty :(

What joke?!?!

Yes, you are correct; it makes sense when swapped around.. but that still doesn't actually make it funny.

A large amount of 'In Soviet Russia…' Jokes aren't funny, or possibly they're working on a whole different level I don't understand.
