Your mother is in Intensive Care at the local hospital and is only being given a 50% chance of survival ?

I'm less than an evangelical angel but I'm not plotting to let millions of people die. Reading one of the links I found on google it appears that the American Cancer Society, a non-profit, voluntary organisation, has denounced the theory as quackery. What exactly would they have to gain from it? Do you honestly think that countless health professionals across the globe are all in on the same scam?

PS Why is it that the drug companies get blamed? Couldn't it be the guys claiming that vitamin b17 cures cancer and who make money from selling the supplements who are the ones lying? The smaller conspiracies are slightly more credible than the gigantic ones after all.

TB hasn't been wiped out and I'd hardly say it was the "drug companies" who wiped out polio.

I don't really believe in conspiracy theories although you probably could say that drug companies are going to concentrate research on ailments which will make them more money. So diseases suffered largely by poor people might end up having less research proportionally than diseases suffered largely by rich people. But I'd imagine that's very low down on the list of why things are / aren't cured after technical issues, etc.

Anyway : on-topic I hope your mum gets better Vaio.

Ok, mother is awake and lucid atm and complaining about all the tubes stuck in her.

She has got either a kidney infection or kidney failure, I will find out in an hour or so when I go to visit.

She still isn't very well and it looks like she will be in intensive care for quite some time yet.

Thanks for everyone that sent their luck. I think it worked :)
