Lets face it, bad form from the moderators to kill the thread. There have been more contentious threads posted recently that only benefitted from more articulate language. While it could be suggested that Crashtester may come across as a bit of a knob, what he said did make sense.

i had complaints about it. tbh i didnt close it because of its 'provocative' content but more that it was a bit too trolling..

I don't think it was what he said as such, it was the fact it was Crashtester who has a long history of trolling who posted it.

I don't think he was trolling here as such, but it was definitely flamebait and I'm not sure if he had any real interest in discussing it seriously. It was simply there to annoy people (especially yahwe I imagine).

In this context, that's not a bad thing. People who have been consistently shit get away with a lot less than people who have been better. Would you really want it any other way?

Can I just say that I got more pos rep for that thread than I think I have for any other. I always expect people to dislike my threads, it seems part of the course for me, but from the rep comments more people liked it than disliked it.

My reputation was slashed from -300 or something to -66 - surely that says something.

I dont think it should have been closed.
